One of my favorite things about the Lancaster area is the 4 seasons. The change of seasons is always something to look forward to.
SPRING brings the flowers and the dogwood trees and a truly beautiful greenness to the farmlands. The countryside is awesome as it comes alive with the colors of the trees and daffodils that have slept all winter.
SUMMER brings all the fresh "veggies" and fruits. Driving throughout the countryside you find numerous Amish stands filled with fresh produce. Along the river you can't miss the stands with the fresh Washington Boro tomatoes, the BEST tomatoes ever. I need to mention the infamous "corn wagon", a flat bed wagon full of freshly picked sweet, juicy Lancaster County corn and lots more. This year for $1.50 you got a bakers' dozen of the best corn ever!! The farmers' markets are full of lots of fresh produce and flowers.
FALL colors of oranges, yellows, reds and various browns decorate the country side. The colors and contrasts are breathtaking. The trees that line the streets are truly lovely as the changing colors accent the quaint little shops.
WINTER months we usually manage a couple of snow falls that keep the kids out of school for a day or two to do some sledding. But unfortunately for the kids not enough to keep them home for a week.
