The museum features many hands-on exhibits. It is located on Route 30 about 4 miles east of Lancaster City. Lancaster County History Museum | | | Located at Penn Square downtown Lancaster is the Lancaster Cultural History Museum. Learn the history and culture of the early settlers. Learn about the fascinating people who made Lancaster what it is today. It is a learning experience for children and adults. Free admission. It offers many special programs: Adult tours, Schools Tours, Classroom programs, Outreach Programs and Workshops. Lancaster Cultural History Museum | | | Wheatland Mansion was the Lancaster Estate of our 15th President, James Buchanan. It is located at 1120 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster, PA. The mansion was built in 1828 and President Buchanan lived there until his death on June 1, 1868. Wheatland Estate | | | The North Museum is located at 400 College Avenue. It is the center for science learning in the Lancaster Area. It houses the largest planetarium in Central PA along with many exhibits, special events, lectures, animals and field trips. It is a learning experience for all ages. North Museum of Natural History and Science | | | Visit Landis Valley Museum and get a true insight into the Pennsylvania German Culture. It is located at 2451 Kissel Hill Rd, Lancaster, PA. Landis Valley Museum | | | Hands-on House is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping kids learn and making sure they have lots of fun in the process. The Museum is designed for children ages 2-10. There are always lots of fun and learning activities for the children. Visit them at 721 Landis Valley Rd, Lancaster or visit their website. Hands-on-House, Children’s Museum | | | The Lancaster Museum of Art is a nonprofit community art center located in downtown Lancaster, 135 N Lime St. It has both permanent and visiting art collections. Free Admission. Lancaster Museum of Art | | | In the heart of Lititz on Route 501 is Wilbur Chocolate. If you are walking through Lititz you most likely smell the Chocolate and won’t be able to resist a visit inside. Their well known Wilbur Buds just can’t be beat!! The admission to the museum is free and you can sample the Wilbur Buds but you will need to take some home. Wilbur Chocolate Candy Museum | | | Sturgis Pretzel Bakery is the oldest commercial pretzel bakery in America, located in Lititz, PA. Come see how pretzels are twisted by hand and baked in brick ovens. Eat some fresh homemade soft pretzels!! But I beat you can’t eat just 1. Sturgis Pretzel House | | | There are many Museums and Historical sites around Lancaster County. Visit “Sites” in Lancaster County Heritage and learn more about Lancaster County and places to visit and see. Lancaster County Heritage | | | In Strasburg, PA visit the Railroad Museum with collection of historic locomotives & railroad cars, hands-on activities, museum store & lots of special events throughout the year. Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania | | | Experience 300 years of Mennonite and Amish life and culture through finest handicrafts and works of art. Displays of household artifacts created and used by Mennonite & Amish, meetinghouse layout of the late 1800’s and displays focusing on the Mennonite and Amish agricultural heritage. Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society | | | The 1719 Hans Herr House is the oldest home in Lancaster County and the oldest still standing Mennonite meeting house.   | | There are many parks throughout Lancaster County with lots of activities for the young and old. Visit their website to see the different locations and what they have to offer. Lancaster County Parks | | | Located in the right on Route 501 in Lititz is the beautiful Lititz Springs Park. During the year it is the center of many activities. It hosts the oldest continuous running fireworks display on the East Coast for the 4th of July celebration. There are also many antique, craft and art shows during the year. Be sure to bring some food for the ducks!! Lititz Springs Park | | | Long’s Park is located on Harrisburg Pike, right off Route 30. In early spring it has the World’s Largest Chicken Barbeque! During the summer it offers the Summer Entertainment Series of FREE concerts at the amphitheatre. Fall it hosts the Country Music Fest. And Labor Day weekend it is bustling with people for the Arts and Crafts Festival. Long’s Park | | | There are 14 parks in Manheim Township and the Park & Recreation Department offers numerous programs throughout the year for children, adults and fitness gurus. Manheim Township Community Parks | | | Located 2040 Lititz Pike, aka Route 501, between Lancaster and Lititz is Manheim Township’s beautiful 18 hole public golf course, Overlook. They offer leagues, lessons, practice range and event coordinating. Overlook Golf Course | | | Located on West Maple Street, Lititz, the Community Center is geared very much to the family with a variety of Children Services available. Their facilities include a Heated Indoor Pool, Gymnasium, Fitness Center, Game Room, Conference Room, Community Rooms and Children Services. They offer variety of fitness classes, swimming programs, summer camp activities and youth programs. The Fitness center accommodates circuit training, cardiovascular and free weights. Lititz Community Center | | | Have Kids?? Well this is the place! It was voted 1 of the 5 best kid’s parks. There is lots for everyone because after all aren’t we all “kids at heart”! Dutch Wonderland, Lancaster | | | Not far from Lancaster is the “Home of the Hershey Kiss”, Hershey, PA. But they not only have great chocolate they have an Amusement Park that you don’t want to miss when in the area. There are lots of kids rides, water rides and 10 coasters. Something for everyone. And while there, don’t forget to visit the chocolate factory and taste the treats! Hershey Park | | | Located at the east end of Meadowbrook Plaza, Leola the Community Center’s mission statement is, “To enhance the quality of life for the residents of Conestoga Valley community and throughout all of Lancaster through development of recreational and wellness programming.” They offer group fitness classes, personal training, kid’s programs, teen’s programs, senior’s programs, nutritional consultations and more. It is filled with lots of homemade treats, fresh fruits, vegetables and crafts. Lancaster Central Market | | | Located in Ephrata, PA is one of the largest Farmer’s Markets in the area. And early every Friday morning it comes alive with shoppers and visitors from all around with something to offer for everyone. Green Dragon Farmers’ Market | | | Located in Bird-in-Hand, PA this market offers various outlets with gifts, clothing & furniture.
